High-Risk Investment Warning

Last updated: 9 October 2026

This High-Risk Investment Warning explains the significant risks of trading leveraged products such as foreign exchange (forex), contracts for difference (CFDs) and other derivatives offered through our trading platforms. Please read it carefully before you open an account or trade.

“Atlas Prime” is a trade name. Client accounts are opened and held with Atlas Prime Ltd, a company incorporated in Saint Lucia under registration number 2024-00754, with its registered office at Ground Floor, The Sotheby Building, Rodney Village, Rodney Bay, Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia.

Other companies also use the Atlas Prime name. They are named at the foot of our website. Your account is with Atlas Prime Ltd and not with any of those companies.

In this warning:

  • we, us and our mean Atlas Prime Ltd;
  • your account means your trading account with us;
  • our trading platforms means the platforms we make available for trading, including MetaTrader 5 and the Atlas Prime app; and
  • our website means atlasprimefx.com.

This warning cannot describe every risk of trading. If there is anything in it that you do not understand, please ask us or take independent professional advice before you trade.

The Main Points

  • Forex and CFDs are complex, leveraged products. They are not suitable for everyone.
  • You can lose some or all of the money you deposit, and you can lose it quickly.
  • Negative balance protection applies to your account, so your losses will not exceed the funds in it. You can still lose all of those funds.
  • Leverage magnifies losses as well as profits.
  • If the funds in your account are no longer enough to support your open positions, those positions can be closed automatically at a loss.
  • Orders, including Stop Loss orders, may be executed at a worse price than the one you requested.
  • Trading costs reduce any profit and add to any loss.
  • Past performance, whether your own or that of a trader you copy, is not a reliable indicator of future results.
  • The information on our website and our trading platforms is general. It is not investment advice. You trade on your own judgement and at your own risk.

The sections below explain these points, and other risks, in more detail.

Trading is High Risk

Trading forex and CFDs is complex and carries a high level of risk. These products are leveraged, which means they can magnify both profits and losses. They are not suitable for everyone.

You should not trade unless you fully understand how these products work and the extent of your exposure to the risk of loss. Before you trade, consider carefully your financial situation, your investment objectives, your level of experience and how much risk you are prepared to accept.

No strategy, tool or person can guarantee a profit or rule out a loss.

You can Lose Your Invested Capital

You may lose some or all of the funds you deposit. You should only trade with money you can afford to lose without affecting your standard of living. You should not trade with borrowed money or with money you need for everyday living costs.

Negative balance protection applies to your account. This means that your losses will not exceed the funds in your account. Even so, the loss of your entire balance remains possible.

The Effect of Leverage

Leverage allows you to open positions much larger than the capital you deposit. The funds set aside in your account to open a position and to keep it open are called margin. Your profit or loss is calculated on the full size of the position, not on the margin.

While leverage can increase potential returns, even small adverse movements in the market can result in significant losses, including the rapid loss of your deposited funds. The more leverage you use, the smaller the market movement needed to cause such a loss.

You are responsible for managing your use of leverage.

Margin and Automatic Closing of Positions

You can open a leveraged position, and keep it open, only while your account holds enough funds to cover the margin required for it. When the market moves against you, the funds available to cover margin fall.

If your account no longer has enough margin, some or all of your open positions can be closed automatically at the market price available at that time. This is often called a stop-out. It usually means that the positions are closed at a loss. It can happen quickly, and you should not rely on receiving a warning first.

Automatic closing does not guarantee that any funds will be left in your account. In fast-moving markets, positions may be closed at a worse price than you expect.

You should check the margin required for a product before you open a position, and you should monitor your open positions and your margin regularly. Adding funds to keep a position open puts more of your money at risk.

CFDs and the Underlying Asset

A CFD is a contract whose value follows the price of an underlying asset. Examples of underlying assets are metals, indices, commodities, energies and cryptocurrencies. When you trade a CFD, you do not buy or own the underlying asset, you have no rights to it and you cannot take delivery of it.

Your profit or loss depends on the size of your position and on the difference between the price at which it is opened and the price at which it is closed, after costs. You can make a loss whether you trade on a price rising or on a price falling, if the market moves the other way.

Costs and Charges

Trading has costs. Depending on your account type and the product you trade, these can include:

  • the spread, which is the difference between the buying price and the selling price;
  • commission; and
  • overnight charges, also called swaps, on positions that are held open overnight.

Costs apply whether a trade makes a profit or a loss. They reduce any profit and increase any loss. Spreads can widen when markets are volatile or when there is little trading activity. Overnight charges build up the longer a position is held open. Frequent trading increases the total costs you pay.

As set out in our Terms of Use, the spreads, commissions, swaps and other charges that apply are described on our website and in our trading platforms, and they may be updated from time to time. You should check them before you trade. You are also responsible for any taxes that apply to you as a result of your trading.

Market Volatility and Execution

Financial markets can move sharply and unpredictably in response to economic data, news events and changes in market conditions. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.

Prices may gap. This means that a price moves from one level to another without trading at the levels in between. Gaps are most likely when a market reopens after a weekend or a holiday and around major news or economic announcements, but they can happen at any time.

Orders may be executed at prices different from those requested, particularly when prices gap or move quickly. This is called slippage. It can mean a larger loss or a smaller profit than you expected.

While a market is closed, including over a weekend, events can still affect the price at which it reopens, and you may be unable to close or change your positions until it does. In some market conditions it may be difficult or impossible to open or close a position at the price you want.

Stop Loss and Other Orders

A Stop Loss order is an instruction to close a position if the price reaches a level you choose. It can help to limit a loss, but it is not a guarantee. A Stop Loss order limits your loss to the amount you planned only if it can be filled at the price you requested. If the price gaps past your level or moves too quickly, the order may be filled at the next available price, and your loss will then be larger than you planned.

Other orders that are triggered at a price you set can be affected in a similar way. Placing an order does not guarantee that it will be executed, or the price at which it will be executed.

Cryptocurrency CFDs

CFDs on cryptocurrencies carry all the risks described in this warning, and their prices are particularly volatile. The price of a cryptocurrency can rise or fall by a large amount in a very short time, and a cryptocurrency can lose most or all of its value. Cryptocurrencies are bought and sold around the clock, so large price movements can happen at any time, including overnight and at weekends, when you may not be watching your account.

Cryptocurrency prices can also be affected by events that are less common in traditional markets. Examples are changes in law or regulation, technical failures or security incidents affecting a cryptocurrency or the venues where it is traded, and sudden changes in market sentiment.

When this volatility is combined with leverage, losses can build up very quickly and positions can be closed automatically with little time for you to react. As with any CFD, you do not own the cryptocurrency itself and you cannot take delivery of it, for example by having it sent to a wallet.

Currency Risk

If you trade a product that is priced in a currency other than the currency of your account, your profit or loss, margin and charges are converted into your account currency. Changes in the exchange rate between the two currencies can reduce a profit or increase a loss. This is in addition to the effect of the price movement of the product itself.

If you deposit or withdraw funds in a currency other than your account currency, the amount credited to your account or paid out to you also depends on the exchange rate applied at that time.

Copy Trading and PAMM Accounts

If you use copy trading or a PAMM account, trading decisions for some or all of your funds are made by another person. In copy trading, this is a strategy provider, whose trades are copied to your account. In a PAMM account, this is a PAMM manager, who trades the funds placed in that account. All the risks described in this warning apply, together with the following:

  • Past results do not predict future results. This applies to the past results of any strategy provider or PAMM manager, including any published statistics or rankings. A strategy that has been profitable can make losses at any time.
  • Losses are your own. Any loss made through copy trading or a PAMM account is your loss, in the same way as a loss on a trade you place yourself. Choosing to copy a strategy provider or to invest in a PAMM account is your own decision.
  • You do not approve each trade. Trades may be opened and closed without your approval of each one, including when you are not watching your account.
  • The strategy may not suit you. A strategy provider or PAMM manager follows their own strategy, which may not take account of your personal circumstances. They may use more leverage, take larger risks or hold positions for longer than you would choose to.
  • Your results may differ. Differences in timing, price, account size, available margin and costs mean that your results may differ from those of the strategy provider, the PAMM manager or other clients.
  • Availability is not a recommendation. The fact that a strategy provider or PAMM manager is available through our services is not a recommendation by us and is not a guarantee of their skill or results.

You should check any fees that apply before you start, because fees reduce your returns. You should also review regularly whether copy trading or a PAMM account remains right for you.

Technology Risks

Online trading depends on technology, including your device, your internet connection, our trading platforms and systems operated by third parties. Any of these can fail, slow down or be interrupted. If that happens, you may be unable to log in, to see current prices, or to place, change or close orders, and orders may be delayed or not executed. The market can move against you during that time.

As set out in our Terms of Use, we do not warrant that our website or services will be uninterrupted or error-free. Our Terms of Use also explain that you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for the activity on your account.

Automated Trading

If you use automated trading software, such as an Expert Advisor on MetaTrader 5, a trading robot or a script, additional risks apply. Automated software follows the rules programmed into it and cannot judge unexpected events. Errors in its design, code or settings, or market conditions it was not designed for, can cause rapid and repeated losses. If your device or connection fails, the software may stop working or leave positions open and unmanaged.

Results from testing an automated strategy on past data, or from its past use, are not a reliable indicator of future results. Trades placed by automated software on your account are your trades, and any losses are your own.

This section describes risks only. Whether you may use a particular kind of automated trading depends on our Terms of Use, including the rules on acceptable use. They apply to automated trading in the same way as to trades you place yourself.
